USSD-widget 0.1.8 released

This version fixes old bug with missing python-dbus dependency (the only known to me bug in previous version) and adds some dbus interfaces to widget. It can be useful if you switch on and off some services with USSD codes. To use them you firstly need to know widget id. You can read it in the header of settings dialog (ussd-widget.desktop.0 is the name of the first widget on your desktop).

Switching silent profile during sleep

I think you wouldn't be pleased if some unimportant call or, what is much worse, SPAM SMS message wakes you up. Solution would be to switch silent profile when you sleep. You can do it by hand ever day, but why not to automate it? You can use silencer, but it has very simple logic, which silences phone when it is late, but not when you sleep. What about something more intelligent?

Shooting direction in gallery2

Geotagging of photos has become usual thing: it is supported by many web-services, applications, cheap digital cameras has built-in GPS receivers. But usually only geographic coordinates are used. But exif has many other useful fields: target coordinates, shooting direction (only horizontal, vertical direction is not supported), speed and movement direction. For me, the most interesting one is shooting direction (target coordinates are interesting too, but not this time) so I decided to add it's support to gallery2.

Ussd-widget 0.1.4 avilable

Today I've released new version of widget, which allows to make USSD queries from your desktop. Mostly this is a bugfix release:
  • Fixed typo, which caused crash on German messages
  • You don't need to describe the beginning of reply in regular expressions
  • Regular expressions are now miltiline and you can select, which matching group to use
  • Language selection mowed to the bottom and a warning added.
